FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AND THE NATIONAL CABINET

WHAT BUSINESSES WILL SHUT DOWN ?
Following the meeting of the National Cabinet it was agreed by all states and territories to implement Stage 1 of a shutdown of non-essential activity across the country, aimed at slowing the spread of COVID-19, from midday Monday 23rd March 2020.
The businesses that will close due to the Stage 1 shutdown include:
- Pubs, clubs, nightclubs
- Casinos
- Licensed venues in hotels* (not including packaged liquor outlets, accommodation)
- Gyms and indoor sporting venues
- Places of worship
- Cinemas and entertainment venues
- Restaurants and cafes will only be allowed to provide home delivery or takeaway services
